Denis Khvatov was born in Moscow in 1969 and took his first piano lesson at the age of six. His musical journey has taken him through  early studies  at the Gnesins Music School and then to the Russian Academy of Music.  He graduated with a Masters Degree as a highly qualified piano teacher and performer.  His teachers included Vyacheslav Gabrielov (piano), Andrei Khitruk (piano), Elena Kadashevich (music theory) and Larisa  Gerver (music theory).

Denis Khvatov is now a piano teacher in Vancouver, Canada, who has recently become a publisher.  He is introducing an All-in-One book for beginners which combines the European teaching approach with a Canadian sensibility.  This is a comprehensive method that covers teaching needs from the very beginning up to a Grade 2/3 standard.
You can explore the book on the official web-site:

All the musical pieces included in this book are recorded and files are available to download for free.  Denis discusses the structure of the book and his concept for the Method  in the Preface by following this link:

I was particularly impressed with Denis’ clarity in describing these exercises for preparatory technique.

Unfortunately, until the book is  accepted for distribution by major music book stores you will need to contact Denis directly through his website.  Official price of the book is $45 CAD.
