Children’s Arts Tax Credit

The Canada Revenue Agency has given a tax incentive for children to take music lessons.

Children’s Art Tax Credit allows the claiming of eligible expenses of up to $500 per year per child for children under 16. The credit applies to regular weekly lessons of at least 8 consecutive weeks. Eligible expenses include lessons and instrument rentals. For more information, please visit the CRA website at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/bdgt/2011/qa01-eng.html
